30-11 Wardrobe releases new single ‘Come Back & Stay’
The Belgium-based band Wardrobe releases its third, new single Come Back and Stay today. The song is a cover of the eponymous Jack Lee classic, or better known as the version of Paul Young.
The second album by Wardrobe, Giving Up a Ghost, was recorded with the help of Bart Vincent (Thou, Melanie De Biasio, Kris Dane), Sarah Pepels (Portland) and Patricia Vanneste (Balthazar). The latter can also be seen along side the band in the intimate videoclip for the single.
The idea to record a renewed version of the 80s classic spontaneously arose during one of the sessions for Giving Up a Ghost. Wardrobe on the new single:
“Come Back and Stay was kind of a happy accident. One night, our producer Bart Vincent suggested he wanted to hear us do a cover. I introduced this Jack Lee classic, mostly known as the Paul Young version. It was the end of a session day and during this particular chat, our enthusiasm to record the cover only grew! So, at night, we recorded the song live with everyone who was still present”
The new Wardrobe album will be released March 2019. The new single and video are now available.
